About Me
Hi, I'm Austin 👋
I'm a 27-year-old from the Midwest with a curiosity that tends to pull me in a lot of different directions. My interests range from electronics, physics, and astronomy to hiking, photography, gaming, traveling, and writing. At the center of most of them is the same thing: I enjoy understanding how things work—whether that's a circuit, a machine, a system, or a person.
Professionally, I work as a mechanical and electrical fabricator on combat vehicle platforms, where I get to combine hands-on problem solving with technical knowledge and precision. I'm also pursuing my bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, building on my practical experience with a deeper understanding of engineering, electronics, and technology.
Outside of engineering, I spend a lot of time thinking and writing about people and the systems we create. Much of my writing explores psychology and philosophy, particularly how people interact with the world around them and how our environments, experiences, and systems influence the way we think and behave. I also explore leadership, ethics, communication, systems thinking, and analytical problem solving.
One of the ideas that connects nearly everything I do is growth. I enjoy learning, challenging my own assumptions, sharing what I've learned, and helping other people discover what fulfillment and growth mean for them.
More than anything, my biggest goal is to pass down to my children the knowledge, perspective, and lessons I wish I had learned earlier in life—not as a blueprint for how they should live, but as tools they can use to build a better life of their own.
I'm still learning, still building, and still figuring things out—and that's kind of the point.
